Patronymic

Kristinn seems to be an Icelander and, as expected for an Icelander, Hrafnsson appears to be a patronymic, not a family name.

In Icelandic materials, he seems to be referred to consistently using just his personal name - like Birgitta but as opposed to foreigners such as Assange (see, for example, http://www.mbl.is/folk/f/1530998/ for a mention of "Assange" in addition to mentions of "Kristinn/Kristni/Kristin", or http://www.ruv.is/frett/segir-asakanir-thingmanns-thvaetting for "Assange" vs "Kristinn" and "Birgitta/Birgittu".

For usage in English, see reports in the Reykjavík Grapevine such as http://grapevine.is/News/ReadArticle/Wikileaks-Spokesman-Speaks-On-Icelandic-Television, which also refers to him as "Kristinn" in subsequent mentions. -- pne (talk) 14:34, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
