Descriptions should match time period

Since the Legion of Doom under discussion is the TV version of vilans taken from the DC line up at the time it was on the air, the descriptions on this page should match the characters at that time, especially as depicted in Super Friends.

I was collecting Flash comics then and own or have read most of the series from the creation of Barry Allen

The Flash to the mid 80's or 90's. I can personally vouch that Captain Cold
did not have Blue Skin at that time. This is supported by the picture on Captian Cold's page.

I also question Solomon Grundy being a Green Lantern foe, I knew him as a Superman Foe (but I may be wrong). - Fenn

No. Sorry, but you're wrong. Grundy did make an occasional appearance against Superman, but he was originally and primariily a foe of the original Green Lantern. Jason Palpatine 23:38, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Justice League Unlimited

Should we reorder the names in alphabetical order for the new Legion, as is done with the old? High level members (like Gorilla Grodd) could be put in a table explaining their position, but the rest would be a bulleted list, like we have now. -- VederJuda 15:56, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Justice League Unlimited episodes that aired in the UK shows other members of the Legion (

Goldface, etc.) Should we add them to the list of Legion members?--UltimatePyro 05:37, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply

Doctor Natas

Can anyone provide any other info on this charcater? Is he based off of a pre-existing DC Supervillian? --Brianmccollum 06:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you have a source saying that Luthor is not a submarine we can't add it, and the great question "Is Lex Luthor a submarine?" will remain unanswered. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 11:00, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merge LoD DAU back

Just to hit the long and the short of it:

Legion of Doom (DC animated universe)
is a padded character list of the LoD "13". The padding includes:

  • Characters that never appeared in DAU television shows - Black Manta
  • Characters that did not appear in the "Legion of Doom" season of Justice League United - Captain Cold, Riddler, Scarecrow, and Solomon Grundy.
  • Plot detail and elements from outside of the "LoD" season as well as material from Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Static Shock.
  • "Related" characters - the "bomber" from the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Beware the Gray Ghost" under "Toyman".

If the irrelevant padding is removed, all that is really left should fit into

Legion of Doom (Super Friends)#Justice League Unlimited
, if it isn't there already. - J Greb (talk) 19:34, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And finally done the merge... well redirect since the relavent info is already here. - J Greb (talk) 00:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Smallville

Before this gets re-added, are there an secondary sources that ID the group as the LoD or that state the producers intend them to be?

If all we have is "I, as a viewer and knowing DC characters and Super Friends, can identify this as the LoD because 4 of the 7 characters are members of the Super Friends team.", then we don't have anything to justify the inclusion here.

- J Greb (talk) 17:43, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We could put this under homages because basiaclly this is a homage to the Legion of Doom since it not only has some members but also uses this of villians banding together to fight the Justice League
-Ironman29758 (talk) 04:52, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"I as a view and fan see this as an homage to..." is still OR. - J Greb (talk) 11:01, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up and issues

A number of things here:

  • Members
    • All but 2 of the columns are unneeded. All that needs be listed is the character and the actor(s), and it would be nice if the actors were actually sourced. Either br pointing out that the show credits used "Role - Actor" or pointing to a secondary source.
    • The bullet points need trimming in some cases and sourcing in others.
  • Other Legion episodes
: The top three may be warranted, and even that is a stretch since two of them are strictly "and the LoD is mentioned" rather than appearances. The solo appearances of the villains is not warranted.
  • Appearances in other media
: Generally, unless the name "Legion of Doom" is explicitly used in the dialogue or text, any inclusion here should have some sort of sourced reference that the group of villains or a visual depiction is a reference to or based on the LoD. This is why the Smallville and Young Justice sections have been constantly removed - the term is not used in the episodes and no references to secondary sources have ever been shown.
  • Justice League Unlimited
: This need heavy copy editing to resuce the amount of plot and the "assumptions" made by editors. It is also questionable if the character list is needed.
  • Batman: The Brave and the Bold
: Is the name actually used? If not, this is in the same boat as "Samllville and Young Justice.
  • Film
: This really doesn't need sub-sectioning since only 1 film is present. And with regard to that... The World's Finest, which just reprints DC's press release, doe not have "Legion of Doom" mentioned. And while Comic Vine does, the blog post is questionable as a reliable source at best. Are there any others?
  • Video games
: Again, is there a reliable source for this? I really don't remember if the main base is refered to as the Legion of Doom's or not. Is it?
  • Cultural references
: Neddeds a look for copy editing as well as for cases where a secondary source needs to be used.

The Batman: TB&TB episode does use Legion of Doom. Twenty seconds in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbqQYRJXm4I Alucardbarnivous (talk) 23:35, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Trailer came out today for Justice League: Doom and Savage refers to the group as the Legion of Doom. Alucardbarnivous (talk) 21:58, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the JLU entry, it could probably get trimmed down to the Matt Wayne statement (the Luthor group in the two-part finale was intended to mirror the LoD, Riddler and Scarecrow were not available, Grodd opposed Luthor, Black Manta's analogy Devil Ray was killed off, Grundy was killed off, Killer Frost was Captain Cold's analogy, and list those members in the two episodes). Alucardbarnivous (talk) 01:29, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I added a citation for the DC Universe Online claim where it's mentioned in an interview, but I've read it's the villain hub on several websites. I added the Superman/Batman entry because it's confirmed in its solicitation. I added the Injustice League Unlimited because it's referred as the Hall in the book ([1]). I'm currently seeking sources confirming the Hall of Doom in Justice League of America/Justice Society of America: Lightning Saga and Final Crisis. Brad Meltzer confirmed for Lightning Saga but he did so privately. Since I can't use that, could we come to a consensus instead? Only image I could find via Google: [2] Alucardbarnivous (talk) 20:54, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Our conversation:
Me: "@bradmeltzer Was the illusion of a former SSoSV hideout made by Sensor Girl in Lightning Saga a homage to the Hall of Doom? Thanks!"
Brad's PM: "But of course!"
As I said, I know we can't cite a private conversation, but if we could come to a consensus on this seeing the image and with this in mind, I hope we could add it. As for Final Crisis, I believe it was said this Hall of Doom was the same from the Injustice League Unlimited arc but I'm still trying to hunt down a source. Alucardbarnivous (talk) 16:47, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alucardbarnivous, if you want to go into original research - personal interviews you conduct formally or informally along with "based on this image" - please do it in your own blog or website. Don't do it here, even tangentially. Banging on "Can we find consensus because we know X and it looks like Y" does not help.
the probability is all but 0
that this topic will be seen as an exception.

Concerning: New Media Features

Habatchii says;

Does anyone have any vintage media that they could contribute; sound bytes, pictures, industry testimonials, etc? The article could use some new materials. --Habatchii (talk) 04:07, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Legion of Doom in other media page request

Hello, could we create a page for Legion of Doom in other media so that there isn’t a whole section filled up? Because some parts of the section are unnecessary. AdanXX (talk) 09:00, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
