Leroy Carr Didn't write the music for How Long How Long Blues, it was a standard throughout the 20's and had been recorded by Blind Lemon Jefferson two years prior and Ida Cox & Papa Charlie Jackson three years before Carrs version.. Though Carrs version widley popularised the song I still think it should be changed.

Did Leroy Carr write "Carried Water for the Elephant" or was it already a blues standard by the time he took it up, and recorded it?
