Support: The nomenclature of "first" and "second" here is an editorial deployment on Wikipedia, but has little currency in the actual literature. The "first" war, as it were, is actually generally referred to as the "17 February Revolution", not as a civil war at all. Revolutions, by their nature, often entail a certain degree of civil conflict - take for example the

Start date is wrong

The Libyan civil war did not start in 2014 but in 2011, when the Gadaffi regime was overthrown by rebels backed by armed NATO intervention. Ever since then there has been a civil war with rival armed groups, often backed by external state actors and private military companies, vying for power in Libya.
