I see "The Sign of Four" from the series "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" is listed as having aired on 29-Dec-1987.
I found that IMdb has it listed as airing on 29-Nov-1987. ^[1]
Is there any way to verify which date is correct?

There was a "Study in Scarlet" episode with Jeremy Brett (the very first episode), but it doesn't appear on this list. I suspect this glaring omission happened because "Study in Scarlet" was not included in the DVD set. Can someone add the details of the episode to the list? Jeremy Brett never had the chance to act in "A Study in Scarlet" because it was never filmed by ITC/Granada Television. There is no "A Study in Scarlet" episode in the series. Apparently it was felt that Jeremy Brett was already too old (at 50 at the start of the series) for that story. Frankly I think that was dumb. Firstly he didn't look 50 AT ALL (I thought he was in his 30s then) and secondly they could have massaged it ever so slightly to adjust to an apparent age of 30 IF it was really necessary which I doubt.

Regardless - there is no "Study in Scarlet" episode for this series (or any of the other series starring Jeremy Brett). The "glaring omission" was committed at the start of filming of the series by NOT FILMING IT. Disagreement about which episode is in which season? NO THERE IS NOT. The decision to skip listing episode designations makes it almost impossible to figure out what episode is what or to find a specific episode on another site because EVERYONE yes absolutely EVERYONE uses the sxxexx designation. Go by IMDB's designations. If "specials" are not part of that, simply designate that is the case AS YOU ALREADY DO. Rather than noting some nonsense about "disagreement", note which established episode designation you are following, eg Netflix, IMDB, or whatever. There is a dagger symbol (†, Template:Dagger, but it is even shown as an image, and not text, so it isn't even searchable!), next to several episodes with the "alt" attribute value "Feature-length special". This is not useful at all, as, as it says on the Dagger template page, the text "is not normally visible to readers, but may be displayed by web browsers when images are switched off, is read out loud by screen readers for those with visual impairment, and can be used by search engines to determine the content of the image." So almost no one can see or know what the dagger actually means, unless they right click and choose "Inspect" (in Chrome), like I did, and look into what the alt text is! This must be replaced by a note or something, but I don't know exactly how. I just know that the dagger does not work. Hovering with the mouse doesn't work either, but that wouldn't even work on mobile either, so we couldn't rely on hovering, even if it worked, which it doesn't. It seems like a shared note would do the trick in the proper way. Can someone who knows how please replace those daggers with references to a proper note with the text "Feature-length special"? --Jhertel (talk) 15:05, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
