Data source

Can anyone provide the source of the population data used here? It seems out of date. The population of Lappeenranta was appx 72k (Jan 2011) not the appx 60k shown here. The higher figure is taken from here http://vrk.fi/default.aspx?docid=4258&site=3&id=0 Would it be better to replace the table here with that one? Missing towns

There are quite a few towns missing... especially from the north. E.g. Kittilä, Sodankylä, Ivalo, etc., all of which are much bigger than some of the towns on this list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.100.8.226 (talk) 17:49, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article currently lists the municipalities ("kunta") of Finland that are officially called "kaupunki" (city/town).
Kittilä, Sodankylä and Inari are municipalities, but as of today they have not decided to call themselves "kaupunki", so they are not included in this list. For the same reason Nurmijärvi with a population of 42,408 is also not listed.
Note that Ivalo is not a municipality, but the administrative center of the municipality of Inari.
Maybe the article should state more clearly what the list is about, though? 2001:999:82:87EA:8DB4:A91D:CEA7:C984 (talk) 18:42, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
