Main Page appearance on 15 April

Please note that I have nominated

Sinking of the RMS Titanic to appear on the Main Page next month on 15 April. In conjunction with that, it is proposed that this article will also be linked from the Main Page on the same day. Please see Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests#April 15 for details. Prioryman (talk) 23:18, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply

Misc edits

  • Corrected cast from Atlantis to conform to what is recorded on WP page for the film:
Removed: Karl Ludvig Schroder, Axel Garde, Gerhart Hauptmann
And added prominent names from Atlantis_(1913_film)#Cast
 Done:
Charles Unthan needs to redirect to Carl_Herman_Unthan -- The former being the name used for this film, latter being name more commonly used. ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 04:27, 7 April 2012 (UTC))[reply

Notable TV episodes

Since there are a couple of

notable TV episodes already on the list, I decided to add: "and notable
TV episodes" to the page description.
If there is a consensus for removal, that should be removed along with the related entries. (my vote: keep). ~Eric F

Saving The Titanic

Changed year from 2011 to 2012 -- Although IMDb lists this as 2011 (and is usually a good source for this), all other sources list as 2012, and the premier airing was April 01 2012; e.g.: UPI ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 19:27, 20 April 2012 (UTC)22:40, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Titanic at 100: Mystery Solved!

Im not very good at editing but this documentary needs to be added. This is about the 2010 sonar mapping of the area.Zyon788 (talk) 06:04, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Red links

I added external link references for red wiki-linked shows. These refs could be removed if/when there is a WP page for them. ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 09:17, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TV documentary removed

I am removing (for the 2nd time) the 62 min. TV documentary:  Titanic Belfast: City of a Thousand Launches (2014). The only release info is from IMDb; it was released on TV in Ireland: [1] — There are countless TV documentaries out there; if somebody wishes to create a new article: List of Television documentaries about the RMS Titanic, then please do so.  —71.20.250.51 (talk) 00:35, 28 June 2014 (UTC) (a.k.a.:  ~Eric)[reply]

Hi Eric, thank you for note. The TV documentary 'Titanic Belfast - City of a Thousand Launches' is a feature length documentary film broadcast on national TV. This title of this page is - List of films about RMS Titanic - and comprises drama and documentary films about RMS Titanic, for instance Titanica, Ghosts of the Titanic. This film qualifies for inclusion in the TV documentary section which is where it has been relocated. Yours sincerely, John

The distinction is that in order for a documentary to be included here, it needs to have been a theatrical release (e.g.: Ghosts of the Abyss is the only one so far). There is no TV documentary section; if there were, it would be much larger than the entire article is now, and should be its own separate article. I apologize for being overly insistent, but once the door is open for one TV documentary, then there would be countless others to follow; (I personally have seen several dozen —of varying quality and notability).  —Eric:71.20.250.51 (talk) 07:41, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Another TV documentary moved to here:

| 2012 | Titanic: The Final Word With James Cameron | Tony Gerber | James Cameron
Bernard Hill
Ewan Stewart | Engineers, architects and historians are assembled to examine why the Titanic sank, using new technology that has come to light since James Cameron's film Titanic (1997).

Another "move to here"

The following entry moved to here for discussion; reason: "obviously influenced by" doesn't seem to be an adequate criterion for inclusion, especially since it's uncited. Discuss?

1937
History Is Made at Night
A couple travel on an ocean liner named the Princess Irene, which hits an iceberg and is crippled, but does not sink. Obviously[citation needed] influenced by the Titanic disaster.

Ghostbusters II

A phantom Titanic and its victims as ghosts are briefly shown. I think it's worth covering in this article. 128.208.76.114 (talk) 01:15, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about a 'Related' section?

Clearly, many entries here are not ABOUT the Titanic. Some are

parodies ("A Flight to Remember") or pastiches ("Voyage of the Damned") or simply include the disaster as historical background for one of several plot elements (Cavalcade) or tangentially (Britannic) etc. Although tempted to remove these, perhaps a new 'Related' section could be added for these. Comments or suggestions? —107.15.157.44 (talk) 17:35, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply
