This article is a shortened version of List of suicides, which covers suicides from antiquity to the present. My new list article includes only the 21st century suicide victims from the List of suicides article. Michael Brooks in possible suicides?

He was a youtuber who died suddenly after talking about being depressed. His sister mentioned he died of a blood clot in the neck, I've never heard of such a thing. Blood clots typically start in the legs and move up to the lungs. I'm speculating but "blood clot in the neck" sounds like ligature style hanging suicide, especially considering he was depressed and had mentioned suicide before. Any opinions on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.10.140.224 (talk) 05:41, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Crash Holly?

American former professional wrestler Crash Holly died in 2003 from alcohol poisoning although it says on his article his death was ruled as a suicide. Is it worth adding here? --Solitude6nv5 (talk) 12:10, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Table: split "causes and explanations", left align

Hello. I notice that the bulleted list was recently converted to a table. No opinion on that. If the table is kept, I suggest the following two adjustments: 1) Split "causes and explanations" into two columns, possibly called "Description of person" and "Notes". 2) Left align all the text. Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:30, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Todd Reid

I deleted the row mentioning the tennis player Todd Reid, because the cause of death was never actually confirmed, and therefore it's unconfirmed if his death was a suicide. Ironicnamejpg (talk) 05:21, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Elliott Smith

Listing Elliott under possible suicides is appropriate, considering the ambiguity in the circumstances behind his stabbing. However, I do suggest that his entry should be edited to better reflect what is known and not known about his death.

"His death was originally ruled a suicide"

The original, official ruling on January the 6th, 2004 was Undetermined, and it has remained officially Undetermined ever since.

"Jennifer Chiba, claimed that she was not with Smith when he allegedly stabbed himself."

Chiba claimed she was in the bathroom when Smith allegedly stabbed himself in the kitchen.

"Investigations since have claimed that Smith may have been having an argument with Chiba before his death,"

That was how the stabbing was originally reported when Chiba was questioned by detectives at the scene of the stabbing. Chiba herself admitted she had an argument with Smith before his death.

"the situation probably escalated to the point where Chiba stabbed Smith twice."

On what basis? "Probably" is a strong word given the mode of death is unclear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.56.208.235 (talk) 11:43, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed header/note addressing people who may be suicidal

Should a fixed header or at least some sort of note be added to this page addressing people who may be suicidal? This is something I see often when reading articles, where there's a note with a hotline number or website (not sure if this can be localized) that people who are suicidal or know some who is can contact to get help. Perhaps this is something to bring up with the Suicide Task Force because it could be something good to have on all suicide related pages? Armenknight (talk) 06:32, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
