Maybe this page should be renamed "List of United States network television schedules", as the current title implies that the schedules are on this page.

I noticed that in the articles for prime time television schedule in individual season the Template:US TV schedule box that links to each individual season schedule is sometimes at the bottom of the page and sometimes at the top. Is there any reason to maintain this inconsistent practice? It seems that most of the articles have the box at the bottom, but the recent season articles have the box at the top. I'm inclined to move them all to the bottom since that seems to the majority approach, both with television schedule articles specifically and more generally in pages that have template boxes of links. --JamesAM (talk) 21:48, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that every season from 2006-2007 on has listings for mid-season changes and summer schedules. I think all seasons should have them. I was trying to add them, starting in 1978-1979, based on the reference books that listed them, but they were reverted and labeled vandalism, and not just vandalism, but BenH vandalism! I feel that some kind of explanation is needed on this page and on each of the year pages. These pages reflect American TV and culture so a lot of what is mentioned is very different elsewhere. Such a list would not be possible in the UK because TV channels have varying schedules every week, TV programmes may be shown infrequently and a season may last only 6 episodes albeit spread throughout the year. Some programmes may have several seasons in a year. Does this mean that these US TV networks would follow this same schedule every week throughout the year? Why do they do this? Surely that is also worth mentioning. Some link or explanation of what the terms network and season mean would also be handy a in most parts of the world there is no difference between a TV network, TV channel or any noticeable TV seasons.--XANIA - ЗAНИA^{Wikipedia talk | Wikibooks talk} 12:09, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They apparently were deleted due to a lack of substantive citations. I'm not sure deleting them entirely made much sense, though; the Saturday morning schedules could easily have been merged into the individual daytime schedule articles based on the reasoning behind the deletions. The daytime schedule articles could be restructured to incorporate the Saturday morning programs, and possibly Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and afternoon network schedules past and present, although it would require the parenthetical subname of each article being changed from "(weekday)" to "(daytime)".
