Mexico's wrestling "BOOM" period?

Mexico is going through a huge boom period right now, similar to the US in the late 90's. 1st of all, shouldnt it be " "of" Lucha Libre". And ocording to who, he is the biggest star of lucha libre, if you ask someone else, he might say that "el santo" is the biggest star of lucha libre, so shouldnt it be the "current biggest star of lucha libre". Title of Article

This is just a note to anybody who moves Mistico to Sin Cara. Please wait at least six months to a year to move him to Sin Cara. Everybody who watches Lucha Libre knows him as Mistico. Please wait until six months or a year to transfer Mistico to Sin Cara. Thanks for reading this.--

How important is this sentence?

The Sin Cara character returned on the August 12 edition of SmackDown... After another week of Arias portraying Sin Cara, Urive returned under the mask on August 20 at a live event in Tacoma, Washington.[1][2] On August 26 it was reported that Urive had been sent home from the week's SmackDown tapings, with Arias once again appearing on TV under the Sin Cara mask.[3] ... However, at the tapings of the September 16 edition of SmackDown, Urive returned as the original Sin Cara, confronting the impostor version of the character.[4]

How important is the bolded sentence? I think it's pointless since it's a house show event and Arias portrayed Sin Cara for weeks in a row on WWE programming. Article name

I see that all wrestlers' articles are named by the ring name used by the wrestler. Sin Cara has joined WWE now 18 months ago. Isn't it time to drop his old ring name ? Regards, Bright Darkness (talk) 01:30, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Universally, no. I think Mexico and some regions still think of him as Místico, not Sin Cara. He was incredibly popular for many years under that name before he became Sin Cara, so I think it's too early for a rename..... yet. Srsrox (talk) 03:14, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Finishing Move(to watch)

On the 20th(21st?) February episode of Superstars, he debuted a new finisher against Drew McIntyre. After setting Drew up with a kick to the legs, he performed something akin to a headscissors take-down on a kneeling Drew. Still too early to add, but if he does it again a few more times, probably could. Místico → Sin Cara – He is now much more famous as Sin Cara than he was as Mistico. Most of the success he has had under the Mistico name has been exclusively in Mexico, to a Spanish-speaking audience. To the English world, he is best known as Sin Cara. It was very unprecedented to make such an announcement, referencing his billed name like that before repackaging him like Sin Cara. But they did it because he was one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the world. He wrestled across Latin America and Asian and gained popularity in America. American based-Pro Wrestling Insider named him the third best wrestler in the world in 2007. Also American-based Wrestling Observer Newsletter awarded him numerous awards including Best Wrestler in 2006, Best Box Office Draw, and Best Box Office Draw of the Decade. He also won numerous wrestling titles as Mistico. Under Sin Cara he has won nothing... except a Slammy Award. He has been on and off of TV for various reasons. Whether or not English speakers understand the commentators and promos is irrelevant (apparent from YouTube comment boxes under Mistico videos). Not at all. Mistico was hugely successful before coming to WWE and his WWE work doesn't match that success. On the other hand Del Rio had a healthy career before coming to WWE, but became a 4-time world champion in WWE and only received major PWI/WON awards after joining WWE. It appears now that the Sin Cara gimmick is going to be that of similar masked gimmicks like Kim Chee and be played by separate wrestlers. Although

Hunico does have a previous history with the gimmick, him playing the regular Sin Cara on last night's Raw appears to be more of a permanent change, as Místico is reportedly expecting to be released soon. There is precedent of having a specific wrestling character having a separate page from the various performers that have performed the character (e.g. Doink the Clown). Based on that precedent, a separate Sin Cara page would focus strictly on the character in its entirety (including the Azul vs. Negro feud), while the Místico and Hunico pages focuses strictly on those wrestler's times with the gimmick, as well as other gimmicks they have had in the past. Let's not rush into this. Hunico has recently portrayed Sin Cara just once. Could we at least wait for him to portray Sin Cara for at least a month to be more sure that it is "more of a permanent change" that the original Sin Cara will not return next week? A lot of the wrestling news sites are reporting that Místico is going to let his contract expire and/or WWE is getting ready to release him and he is ready to move back to Mexico anyways. Yes, I am aware of what various wrestling news sites are reporting. Yet, it is not concrete evidence. I have also read that Kalisto might be called up soon. Anyway, my intention is to delay this split, if we do this split without more of a permanent confirmation from WWE, we will be wasting our time. I will only support a split if either one of the following two conditions is fulfilled- a) Místico is released, after-which Hunico continues to play the Sin Cara character; b) from today until 1 January 2014, Hunico plays the Sin Cara character several times. WWE issued the following statement to Prowrestling.net regarding the status of Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, who plays the Sin Cara character. "The original performer behind the Sin Cara mask remains under contract to WWE. WWE will continue to invest in the character and retain it as part of WWE programming." Officially done? Source? Anyway, even if true (and I think it is), no need for a new article. Either bio adequately explains when the gimmick switched wrestlers. If there were as many Sin Caras as Doink the Clowns, I'd be for it, but two isn't enough. There's really sweet fuck all to say about the character itself. Although Tiger Mask (professional wrestling) and Doink the Clown have multiple people playing the gimmick, we created the Suicide (wrestling) article when just Kaz and Daniels had portrayed the character. Kendo Nagasaki only has two wrestlers listed as portraying the character, although it has a section for characters played by other wrestlers that were loosely inspired by the gimmick. Since there is no other noun being portrayed as "Sin Cara", I don't think the (wrestling) is entirely necessary. I do support the split, though.
