There were a lot of facts in this article that had no references. I rewrote the article, combining it with the banjolin article, and matched facts to sources. Some things went to the chopping block for lack of citation and lack of sources. One fact was from a page that said "probably" before the information--I cut that too. Sorry to those who are devoted to what I cut. I could find nothing that says banjolins are violins and banjos crossed; I was able to find a paper that showed them being related to the tenor banjo, and simplified from double strings (mandolin) to single strings. I could find nothing relating to fretless banjolins either.Jacqke (talk) 17:45, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
