Advantages and disadvantages of mechanization?

I suggest this section be edited into the page Automation since it concerns the advantages of replacing human with mechanical labour rather than augmenting it. It does contain useful statistical comparisons between human and mechanical labour which aren't found in the Automation article, but also controversial claims such as:

"Combining both the inefficiency as well as the low cumulative work capability, we can see that a boss will pick a machine over a human anytime"

I've marked this as *citation needed* and I suggest it is unverifiable. It seems more like personal speculation than an impartial reflection on the statistics being discussed in the section. BuffaloBill90 (talk) 15:51, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing this section with the 'Advantages and disadvantages' section suggested at the top of this discussion page would probably be more informative and make it somewhat continuous with the article on Automation which has such a section. BuffaloBill90 (talk) 16:00, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Automation is not the same thing as mechanization. Automation is about how much operator attendance is required to operate a machine. A more appropriate merger would be with a topic that discusses replacement of human and animal power with inanimate power.Phmoreno (talk) 17:33, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
