I changed "floods" to "waters downstream" -- see articles by Morrice, Allen et al cited in Nile. Section on planning needs to refer to these too. Changed wording again, very slightly for accuracy. Note the article contradicted itself, by stating earlier that main purpose of Aswan dam was hydropower -- this is NOT the same as flood control. The "finally" was inappropriate. There are several more nuances (probably indadvertent) about the technology, history etc that need improvement Michael P. Current status

There are several verb tenses which seem to refer to this dam as a "ongoing project". The whole article, especially the first sections, needs to be revised by someone who has fresh info on the current status of that dam. Nicola.Manini (talk) 20:16, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly agree with this. The article has no clarity regarding the timescale of the damn and its completion date. It is unclear even whether the damn has been completed or is a project that might still be abandoned or significantly changed. LookingGlass (talk) 17:23, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
