Adding "about=yes" to "cost" line in infobox to get around a limitation of the template

Wikipedia software has a limit of 40 for its "expansion depth." Pages that go over this limit have problems and wind up in Category:Pages where expansion depth is exceeded. Until I added "about=yes" to the "cost" line in the infobox, this page was over the limit.

The fault lies with {{US$}}. In it simplest form, it uses 33 of the available 40. The surrounding code in {{infobox attraction}} and {{infobox attraction/section}} eat up the rest and then some.

Interestingly, adding |about=yes to {{US$}} cuts its number down to below 30, so the article no longer exceeds the limit.

Hopefully someone will rewrite {{US$}} and related templates so they don't have this problem. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:30, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
