If we need the currently shown classification of countries (and I am not sure that we do), the heading which reads in Anglo-Saxon and other Commonwealth countries is inappropriate in my view. Neither Ireland nor India is an Anglo-Saxon country, and even in the United Kingdom it is only England that can (partly) be described as Anglo-Saxon. Furthermore, Ireland is neither Anglo-Saxon nor a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

I know that some (especially speakers of French and other Romance languages) are wont to use "Anglo-Saxon" and its cognates as shorthand for "American and British", but in English the term really ought to be reserved for use in connection with the language and culture of pre-Conquest England.

The intention of the current heading is probably to refer to countries with parliamentary systems based on the Westminster model; if so, some better way needs to be found to make this reference. -- Picapica 10:25, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:Fastifex reverted my change without discussion on the talk page. In the edit summary he said "ministerial (executive!) ranks aren't linked to the legislature type as such". Actually that statement is incorrect as for example under the Westminster system minister are normally members of the legislature. Additionally Westminster system describes more than just the legislature (even if it is legislature focussed). Captainj 22:50, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After reflexion, Picapica was right especially in questioning whether we need this type of classification, as it says little about the various ministers of state. So I have a go at another approach alltogether: rather then keep mixing geographical and legislature type-classifications let's specify if the rank is high or low, something more important and confusing as there seems to be no logic behind it.
