In the few places that references are given, the referencing in this article seems to largely fail verification. The references offered establish the statistic rather than the ranking. Are better references not available? If they aren't, then I don't the rankings are

https://static.hailstate.com/custompages/pdf/fb/fb_22mg.pdf#page=119, for example for passing attempts and yards, shows ranked order. Even if this is updated annually, it can still be one season behind. This 2022 issue doesn't have records through 2022, and as of now, there is no 2023 issue. People want to update as soon as they can. However, I would hope that is sufficient. I will check back this evening. If this is sufficient I will add/update references. Thanks. @Mikeblas In going through references I have found inaccuracies in this Wikipedia article. I am going to go ahead and start making changes to this page, mostly adding references that show order, not just amount, of statistics. If the most recent season can change the lists, it will require doing addition in some cases, and using results, whether addition is required or not, to determine where on the lists results go. A source that shows complete ordering, with changes for more recent season, will not be available until probably late summer. I intend to stay on top of it going forward, and update the references as more recent info becomes available. Any questions, comments, suggestions, are welcome. Thanks for pointing this out. That Record Book is a great find. Most teams make a PR guide or year book like this, but I have no idea how to find them for college football teams. That will establish the rankings, not just the statistic in isolation. Thanks for digging into it! -- Mikeblas (talk) 03:02, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My changes made 22:39, 22 April 2023‎

As far as the "modern era" wording, which I changed, and Harry Furman scoring 7 rushing TDs in a 1907 game, I put it in the list, for that game plus another game in 1907, along with another player in 2014, which are at the source. At https://static.hailstate.com/custompages/pdf/fb/fb_22mg.pdf#page=115, starting on pages 115 & 116, the "Modern Era" is listed as separate from "Since 1950" at least ten times, is shown to not be as far back as 1910 for "MOST KICKOFF RETURN TOUCHDOWNS", is shown to be as far back as 1936 at least four times, and is shown to be as recent as 2020 at least two times. I don't see "Modern Era" used in "INDIVIDUAL RECORDS" anywhere but once for "INTERCEPTIONS" "GAME". This is interesting since there is a Jack Nix also tied for first with 3 interceptions in 1939. The Jack Nix entry is not shown at https://static.hailstate.com/custompages/pdf/fb/fb_22mg.pdf#page=125. It seems it should be in the list, since the year 1939 is more recent than 1936. I did not put the Jack Nix entry on the list (apparently initially without a source), but felt that I did find a very reputable source for it. It appears either the modern era should be defined as not including 1939, in spite of the modern era entries from 1936, or Jack Nix should be included. I left Jack Nix in the list, although I have no problem with it either way. Jay Jor (talk) 22:46, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
