Sammy Hagar and Denny Carmassi pre-Montrose?

I've heard that Sammy Hagar and Denny Carmassi recorded some demos together before they were in Montrose, but I don't know enough about this to feel comfortable putting that in the article. Gringo300 01:56, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Mitchell Froom

There was an extensive mention of Mitchell here on this page but since he was never in Montrose (the band), I felt is was inappropriate here and moved it to the Gamma page where he was a member. My apologies if anyone is offended. Bob Glickman

highest chart position - not convinced

As someone who "was there" at the time, and picked up the LP the same week it was released (for $3.27 - those were the days) I remember it lingering for a long time in the "middle position" of the bestseller racks in the stores. Such records were usually in the #60-#40 or so chart position. 133 seems to be a much too low a chart level, and the source for this may be outdated, or just plain wrong. It was a hot, much talked-about hard rock album that the kids at school picked up - if they were in that crowd - and I suspect it sold at least 150,000-200,000 over the first couple of months - of course, today it is platinum-plus. Requesting some research if anyone has a known RS. HammerFilmFan (talk) 21:12, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I did a look around and came up with Billboard 200 No. 133 for Montrose[1], platinum status[2][3], and for a while not much else. The sources frankly range from so-so, to not very, notable. AllMusic back in the day used to list chart positions, but have not done so for a couple of years or more now. However, this highly reliable source confirms No. 133 on June 15, 1974. You can't really argue with the horse's mouth, as it were. I will cross reference the chart places on all their album articles, which frankly seem to suffer from a mixture of fancruft, pseudo rock journalism and absolute made-up bollocks.
