I have a real problem here in that reading about Motion, the first detail you come across in anchor point! Maybe the actual ethos of the program design needs to be tackled first, ie real time preview.

In "how motion works" how can something be pre-prepared?

Thanks for adding the discussion of replicators, particles and FxPlugs! I think it would be a good idea if the Tools section was renamed and broken down into a hierarchical list something along these lines: Available objects in a scene -Rectangles, Ovals, and Lines -General Bezier and BSpline shapes -Text -Masks -Video and Audio Footage -Still images -3D Cameras -3D Lights

Most of the above tools has the following properties: -Transformation (Position, scale, rotation, shear, etc.) -Blend Mode (Normal (Over), Add, Multiply, Difference, etc.) -Drop Shadow -Four Corner distortion -Crop -Retiming (including variable speed retiming with Optical Flow for generating in-between frames)

Core Image Corrections

While Motion does allow the use of Core Image filters and generators, it doesn't seem a large enough feature to have so much text devoted to it. I'd cut it down to just the first sentence about Core Image. (Furthermore, Core Image does not allow multiple filters to be stacked without a slowdown. Minimum amount of RAM?

Multiple copies execute concurrently?

The main article has a paragraph that says: "Features of Motion include the ability to create custom particle effects (as well as using pre-built ones) and to add filters, effects and animations in real time. Motion has the ability to address up to 32 GB of RAM and GPU acceleration at 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit float color depths."

So if I installed four copies of Motion, I could process the very same 32 GB range of RAM in a sixteenth amount of time? (Most of us are keenly aware of pass-through processing, and the advantages of executing code that will work on the very same target range at the very same time, effectively realizing a parallel processing of some kind.) The main article does not indicate how many copies of Motion can be loaded in, and made to execute simultaneously.

The article could be improved by listing the number of copies of Motion that can be made memory resident, and achieve concurrent execution thereby. 216.99.201.243 (talk) 03:24, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Was Motion completely developed internally?
