Mullard vs Philips
According to the lead, "This chip was also manufactured by Mullard for Philips" yet the title of the article is Mullard SAA5050. So was the chip originally designed by Philips (in which case the article ought to be moved to Philips SAA5050)? If, however, Philips was the second source then the sentence doesn't make sense. Discuss. 87.75.117.183 (talk) 13:12, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
According to the Wikipedia article on Mullard, the company was acquired by Philips in 1927. The sentence probably refers to the chip carrying either Philips or Mullard branding, while being produced at the same facility in the UK. A Google image search turns up some SAA 5050 chips clearly marked with the Philips logo, while the image in the article carries no logo. 92.35.31.146 (talk) 04:07, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
