Requested move

Ulster Television plc → UTV plc – Company has legally changed its name to UTV plc, which is already a redirect here (as it had been a defacto name for some time. --Kiand 08:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - and change 'Ulster Television plc' to 'UTV plc' where necessary in articles. theKeith 12:50, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - should just say that the name change has yet to be registered with the Northern Ireland Registrar of Companies ([1], so its not quite official yet, I would imagine it will be done within the week. --Rdd 19:19, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UTV

Since UTV is a company which operates all over Ireland nowadays, it makes sense to change the term "..in Northern Ireland" to "..based in Northern Ireland", as they are not only a company in the Northern Ireland but all of Ireland and provide services to the Irish population as a whole.

Republic of Ireland

The term "Republic of Ireland" is incorrect. It's just "Ireland". This should be corrected. --

Well, according to what I've recently read, 1)Ireland is the constitutional name of the country, whereas Republic of Ireland is the legal description of the state & 2) Republic of Ireland is used when necessary to differentiate the country from the island of Ireland. 2602:304:CEBF:82F0:645A:700:3028:AE00 (talk) 10:51, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
