We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have. Cleanup. To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates? Standardize the Chronology. A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563) Stub sorting Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . . Data sorting. This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

What are the sources that mention him as the son of Ramesses II? It has been suggested that he was his grandson, but it isn't known for sure, and the most we know is that he was married to Tiye Mereniset, one of Merenptah's daughter. – Alensha  ^talk 20:39, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is the Sethnakht that is the son of Ramesses II, rather than the 20th Dynasty pharaoh (Setnakhte)(see section of Ramesses II on his life). Not sure if this is what you mean though! Markh 11:11, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

oh, I understand then. But he had several sons that were more important than this one, like Ramesses Jr., Pare-hir-wenemef (both were crown princes for some years), or Meriatum (high priest of Heliupolis). These were mentioned in the article on Ramesses II. There were a good number of sons and daughters. Perhaps the offspring that have articles should be put here. Markh 19:00, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The end of the family tree has several errors. According to Dodson's book:

• It is not known whether the Isetnofret who married Merenptah was the daughter of Ramesses II or the daughter of Khaemwaset. Both had a daughter called Isetnofret, but the one who married Merenptah was never called "King's Daughter", a title she should have had if she was a daughter of Ramesses. She was most likely not Queen Isetnofret's daughter, that assumption was based on their names alone, which is insufficient.
• Seti II did not have a wife called Tia'a. There was some stuff in Siptah's tomb with the inscription "King's Mother Tia'a", but those were originally in the adjacent tomb of Thutmose IV and floodwater washed them into that of Siptah.
• Twosret's parent's names are unknown, placing her on the family tree as a child of Merenptah and Takhat is arbitrary.
• If we include all the children of Isetnofret, we should do the same with the children of Nefertari: Pareherwenemef, Meryatum and Henuttawy aren't included now. – Alensha ^talk 19:09, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
