I put up a picture of Noel. I wanted to include birth and death dates, but I'm kind of inexperienced to wikipedia. The preceding

Date of Birth

There are two different dates of birth on this article - one in the main article and one underneath the picture. —The preceding

Sources/Citations

There are no citations on this article. Some of the facts and quotes (such as the quote from Chas Chandler) are very interesting but without sources can't be trusted. --Crazytonyi 12:02, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Noel's Death

The issue regarding Noel's death is getting ridiculous. I thought that Wikipedia was designed to provide comprehensive and detailed information about its subject matter. When I saw that his death was glossed over with the meaningless non-medical term "natural causes" I quite naturally thought that providing the comprehensive and detailed information about how Noel died was the correct thing to do. If we're going to censor information and make spurious accusations of 'privacy' (I'm pretty sure looking up his recorded cause of death is not privileged information) then the WIkipedia entries simply become dumbed down. I'm not sure how to treat the comment "Suspect previous poster is being awkward and a dickhead" - I've always thought informed discussion was a good way of resolving disputes, and aren't there guidelines on here for respecting other people? -- Mickraus 14:19, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

you are talking about respect, yet dont seem to have respect for the subject, is it a matter for public knowledge as how he died, or is a case you wanting to show how clever you are. redstrand —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redstrand (talkcontribs) 15:44, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is Wikipedia supposed to provide detailed informatory information or not? It's a simple question which I think has the answer "yes". -- Mickraus 21:02, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More details about music!

This article is typical for wikipedia - its about everything but only little about music. I want to know which kind of music he played, and how this music evolved through time. That is by far most important. For example, what about that Fat Mattress, what kind of music is it; was it good or bad. Etc. 78.0.72.168 (talk) 03:37, 25 March 2008

Later Life

In the early 90's I went to De Barra's Folk Club in Clonakilty. As I understand it this was owned by Noel, and I was privileged to enjoy a really good performance of what is best described as a good, healthy rhythm and blues by his band (with him on lead guitar not bass). I don't recall the name of the band. I managed to exchange a few words with him and he seem like a decent guy - I was a bit in awe as a bass player I felt like a priest meeting one of the disciples!

Some more informed detail about this stage of his career would be interesting.

When talking of Noel Redding we should perhaps remember that not only was he a superb musician but a truly lovely Man,after his death Debra and myself were going to start on the Noel Redding School of Music based at his house "Dunowen" but other members of his estate wanted the house sold so the idea never got off the ground, also somewhat sad to see bad things written on Wikipedia site about Noel as his kindly spirit and cheeky smile gave away his true nature "Will always miss that Hello Mate when he answered the phone" Noel,Debra and his Lovely Mother are all passed now and would appreciate some more nice things said about the family,Bless you all Music Lovers Frendovnoels 21.48 4thjuly 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frendovnoels (talkcontribs) 20:50, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Noel's name

Is there a reason why Noel's birth name is listed as being named "David Noel Redding" rather than "Noel David Redding"? All the evidence I've seen suggests that the latter is correct. In his autobiography, Noel states unambiguously that "David" is his middle name (page 2: "I succeeded in getting an A pass for Harvey Grammar School with three other boys named David (my middle name), getting the news on St David's Day"), and on his passport, which can be seen about halfway down the page at the link http://brumepourpre.hendrix.free.fr/1966_09.htm, he signs his name variously as "Mr. Noel David Redding" and "Noel D. Redding"; clearly he at least seemed to believe that this was the correct order. CelticBrain (talk) 04:16, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
