1) currently Apostolic Nuncios and Apostolic Delegates are always Titular Archbishops (in the past, apostolic delegates were sometimes simply titular bishops). 2) Since 1994, new appointments have removed the distinctions between Nuncios, Inter-Nuncios, and Pro-Nuncios. The last two titles are no longer used in the sense mentioned in the article. 3) The term Inter-Nuncio is now sometimes used for the interm head of a nunciature. (For the time when one Nuncio had retired or moved and a new one is named.)

I've fixed some of the above, but it still needs a good bit of work. Some of it makes no sense currently.--Dcheney 03:44, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Four little stubs about what are degrees of the same thing is not as useful as a single article, where the differences can be described in the proper context. Additionally, the "other" nuncios all had the adjetive "apostolic" attached as well, such as an apostolic pro-nuncio, apostolic internuncio, etc. Gentgeen 22:49, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When the Apostolic See is vacated, do the nuncios automatically get suspended like other Vatican officials? All I know is that the Prefects and Presidents of Pontifical Councils get suspended while the Secretaries and lower-ranking officials keep their posts. In other countries, ambassadors automatically are out when the home administration changes, so do Vatican ambassadors change with Papal administrations too?

According to Universi Dominici Gregis #21, "In the same way, the office and attendant powers of Papal Representatives do not lapse." In other words, Nuncios retain their office.--Dcheney 03:07, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
