Contradiction

From the bottom of the main text: "A common misconception is that neutering surgical sterilization of animals increases the chances of the pet becoming overweight."

vs

From the gerbil image: "Obesity in a gerbil due in part to castration."

Resolve the contradiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.239.120.130 (talk) 22:40, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This contradiction has been resolved by revising the sentence and providing a citation. DeborahLinderDVMDACVN (talk) 13:50, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

This article needs more pictures. So many more pictures.

The caption for the image saying "This chihuahua is noticeably overweight" is clearly a picture of a cat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.176.36.98 (talk) 11:04, 29 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MEDRS rules: primary research papers cannot be used as sources for medical information, and this applies to veterinary matters because people may (though they should not) take any random WP medical material as reliable and make health, even life-or-death decisions based on it. Highly reputable secondary sources are required. PS: New posts go at the bottom, not the top, of talk pages, and updates to the same thread do not take a new section heading; just fix the heading. Your first source looks good, the second does not (reasonable publisher, but the work is tertiary "for dummies" kind of material), and the third also does not (primary research which might be invalidated next month).  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  11:29, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply
