"often" referred to as Plaza City?!?
I'm an Orange resident and have lived in Orange County all my life, and have absolutely never, ever heard Orange referred to as "Plaza City". Anazgnos 16:37, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- The following is right off the Orange Public Library Local History Collection official website:
The City of Orange is often called the "Plaza City," and indeed it is the only city in Orange County that was planned and built around a plaza.
- --Lordkinbote 17:14, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not disputing that it may be an official nickname in some capacity. The placement of the phrase "often referred to as Plaza City" in the opening paragraph gives the impression that the name is in practical, common use, which is not the case. The information should be relocated to the "History" section. Anazgnos 19:33, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough.--Lordkinbote 21:52, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Restoring some deleting material
Recent edits seems to be pretty dramatic. There might have been some "dead wood" in the the article but not that much. Here's some parts that I am restoring:
- The part about movies filmed in downtown Orange is valid information and not trivia. Not that many films are actually filmed in Orange County (Orange County (movie)was filmed I think in Pasadena. And the downtown area is where the filming takes place so moving it out of that section to a new section makes no sense.
- The "Map" is a key bit of information about a city. It is highly relavent. Look at the discussion for Santa Ana, CAsomeone is complaining about the lack of a map.
- The photo at bottom of city's signiture fountain.
--MarsRover 04:37, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Trivia can be "vallid info" however, unless it "defines" orange, it shouldn't be there. Last time I checked, Orange wasn't known for people filming there. please see Tucson, where many more films were made.
- perhaps a map on the "key" up top would be more appropriate, in reference to adjoining cities.
- what is meant by "signature fountain"? is the city defined by this fountain? Ive lived there for over 20 years and never even heard of it. Is the photo that nesessary? If so, why? Somerset219 05:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
if movies are relevant to the orange circle then I see no reason not to include them, in reference to the circle. Individual movies aren't needed dependent on relevancy. The picture definetly was not nesessary though. Sorry for barging in here and running a muck, Ive been on here for too damn long. Somerset219 06:08, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, then why did you delete the part about movies?--MarsRover 07:05, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
This section should go under a different portion. It was irrelevant to have in the description of Orange, however I will bring it back. Somerset219 07:14, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Info is now included. Somerset219 07:21, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Points of Interest
I revised the paragraph on the Plaza, which previously consisted of rather ostentatious and unsubstantiated opinion. (75.50.100.4 (talk) 23:44, 26 April 2008 (UTC))
Demographics (2000)
From what I know of the topic, Orange had 20% Hispanic/Latino population, not 10 percent and due to higher Hispanic/Latino percentages ins surrounding cities
