Origin of towns name

I've found a reliable source, Paris, Tightwad and Peculiar: Missouri Plce Names by Margot Ford McMillen (a Westminster College professor and noted Mo. folklorist) that provides an alternate version of how Peculiar's name came to be. I'm going to include it for now unless someone can come up with a valid counter-argument or debunk McMillen's book. Sector001 (talk) 15:56, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
