Proposed merge with Metropolitan Region Scheme

The Metropolitan Region Scheme covers the same area as the Perth Metropolitan Region; the history of the Perth Metropolitan Region is the Metropolitan Region Scheme. Individually the articles are weak, combining them will make a much better article. Batternut (talk) 11:05, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. This doesn't make sense. The MRS is the major planning document for the metropolitan area: merging it into this (already fairly confused) article would just result in a really confused article. I'm not exactly sure why we need an article on the different definitions of the Perth metropolitan area (although I suppose it can't hurt), but mangling an article on planning regulation into a page about the various definitions of what constitutes the city of Perth is super unhelpful. Oppose. The Perth Metropolitan Area relates to its physical and administrative area (which differs dependeing on who is defining it). The MRS on the other hand is a town planning document. In my view, the two are only related by coincidence, have different meanings in their context, and shouldn't be merged. Rund717 (talk) 15:22, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
