The Greenway

Untitled

"A pleasant walk or cycle path in summertime (despite the name), it is a handy way to get from "A-B" quickly."

I laughed uncontrollably when I read this phrase! That has got to be a description for The Greenway that is the furthest from the truth, people get mugged and all sorts down that pathway, even in broad daylight! "pleasant" LOL. JJMan (talk) 21:17, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article quality:

"Plaistow is mainly a residential area. Apart from a number of convenience stores, post offices, etc., the area is mainly occupied by houses and apartments blocks (a number of them were built just recently). Local residents usually visit its neighbouring areas (such as Stratford, West Ham and Green Street, all within walkable distance) for large shopping centres and restaurants.

In terms of travel connections, both local and international, Plaistow is well positioned. A 10-30 minute bus ride from almost anywhere in Plaistow allows travellers to easily reach London City Airport and, from there, many places in Western Europe. Stratford International - station for the Eurostar, is also a 10 minute bus ride away. Plaistow tube station is part of the District Line and Hammersmith and City Line network of the London Underground. The journey time to the City of London is approximately 15–20 minutes from Plaistow Station."

1) Recently is meaningless in an encyclopedia article. 2) "A 10-30 minute bus ride from almost anywhere in Plaistow". Which part of Plaistow is >30 minutes or <10 minutes from London City Airport. This is useless information. 3) What does "in terms of", mean? Can this phrase be banned from wikipedis, if not the English Language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.7.53.2 (talk) 18:22, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location

In what way is Plaistow, Newham in Essex? Borders change. Plaistow was in the Essex county borough of West Ham but that changed in 1965 to the London borough of Newham. Isn't it in London, albeit Greater London, in all respects including government, postal address and geography? LenF54 (talk) 16:35, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
