Bengali?
Was he Bengali or Assamese? The article suggests he was Assamese, while the category marks him as Bengali. --Ragib (talk) 17:12, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- He was born in Assam, studied in Hare School etc. and worked in Calcutta. Whether he can be called Bengali or not, I am not sure, but he was 'Bengali Actor' for sure, as he acted in Bengali films.GDibyendu (talk) 17:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think there needs to be a distinction between "Actors who are Bengali by ethnicity", and "Actors who acted in Bengali-language films". Mithun Chakrabarty - he is a Bengali actor (by ethnicity) working (mainly) in Hindi films. --Ragib (talk) 17:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)]
- Agreed with the point. Removed him from Category:Bengali actors. But, Mithun acts in Bengali films also. GDibyendu (talk) 17:31, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think there needs to be a distinction between "Actors who are Bengali by ethnicity", and "Actors who acted in Bengali-language films".
November 2011
I have restored the article to the version of 12 September 2011 with some minor clean up and addition of possible sources for expansion. See [1]. Unfortunately, the later additions were not helpful as the English grammar, spelling, and punctuation were of a standard that made the article incomprensible. Although copyvio added after 12 September was removed on October 16, the post October 16 additions still contained many phrases which seem to have been taken verbatim from:
- Chatterji, Shoma. P. C. Barua. Delhi: Wisdom Tree. ISBN 978 81-8328-104-1
and/or
- Chatterji, Shoma A. (15 October 2009). "Pramathesh Chandra Barua-The First Star in Bengali Cinema". Calcutta Tube
