This bridge just outside Preston Duns is described as a place where Nel Logan was imprisoned for sheep stealing. I came across an article in Duns library that said it was a place where witches were held before trial. They were kept there in a place over running water so their contact and power with the devil was broken thus rendered harmless 2A02:C7C:CB11:3100:553E:B403:369E:D897 (talk) 16:43, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
