The information about "Purushotthama" and about "Porus" come from independent sources from within two completely different cultures, and it is only a matter of conjecture that the two bodies of information are referring to the same individual. If both sources reported, for instance, precise identical birth and death dates, then scholars would have no problem asserting that they are identical; the coincidence would be too great to assume otherwise. But we don't have anything that good, so all we can say is "possibly". Stan 05:34, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which Indian Text?

Can somebody cite the Indian source which rewfers to king "Purushotthama" who is being identified with Puru here?. Exactly which Indian Text refers to this king and in what time frame?

Thanks

Correct transliteration

A correct transliteration would be Purushottama.--Imz 00:20, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
