  • Nice article, I would like to add something someday. --Bhadani 14:50, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Very good article. Well written. Sandbreak 03:23, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • She died of what?
Exactly, the article doesn't specify what she died of, or was ailing from. More references needed. 70.20.122.91 04:58, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rename request

She was never known as Maryam Jinnah: <ref>Hamdani, Yasser (22 May 2017). "Who is Maryam Jinnah". dailytimes.com.pk. {{cite news}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help); Text "url: http://dailytimes.com.pk/opinion/22-May-17/who-is-maryam-jinnah" ignored (help) Because she later changed her name to Maryam jinnah and converted to a Muslim as the article itself specifies, I think this article should be renamed 'Maryam jinnah' rather than Rattanbai Petit. For example,

Mohammed Ali's old name was Cassius Marcellus Clay, but he later changed it to Mohammed Ali and hence the article is named that, saying 'Mohammed Ali (Born Cassius Marcellus Clay) ..'. digitwoman (talk) 01:46, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply

Read this and shame on you Top Gun and Wikipedia: http://blogs.tribune.com.pk/story/49959/if-jinnah-never-asked-ruttie-to-change-her-name-to-maryam-why-did-you-pakistan/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.186.141.138 (talk) 07:53, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this Top Gun fellow changing the name here? Not a single source shows that Ruttie had any clue that her name was Maryam. 39.40.29.196 (talk) 10:44, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Shame on TopGun. Here is another article: http://dailytimes.com.pk/opinion/22-May-17/who-is-maryam-jinnah 39.40.148.220 (talk) 11:43, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What nonsense? You haven't cited a single jot of evidence to corroborate your dubious claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SEMTEX85 (talkcontribs) 18:31, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No reputable books refer to her by the name Maryam. Rattanbai is/was her name and it was the name Jinnah called her by. Also, Clay demanded that he be called Ali, while referring to Rattanbai as Maryam began after modern day Islamists realised they couldn't make the (already false) claim Jinnah was an observant Muslim if his wife never converted to Islam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.65.204.91 (talk) 11:46, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

M C Chagla mentioned about Jinnah in his book “Roses in December”-
“Jinnah sat like a statue throughout the funeral but when asked to throw earth on the grave, he broke down and wept. That was the only time when I found Jinnah betraying some shadow of human weakness. It’s not a well publicised fact that as a young student in England it had been one of Jinnah’s dreams to play Romeo at The Globe. It is a strange twist of fate that a love story that started like a fairy tale ended as a haunting tragedy to rival any of Shakespeare’s dramas.”

Is there a reliable source that states she was renamed Maryam?

No.

Date of death

In the intro, the article indicates that she died on 15 February. However, in the "Last Days..." section, she died on her birthday, which would mean that she died on 20th February. Which one is right? 72.140.148.79 (talk) 14:14, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A query, please. Why cant this article have a link to 'Ruttie Jinnah' too, guide people? Thats the name she's generally known by to almost everyone. Thanks

Supporters of Imran Khan possibly adding wrong info

Supporters of Pakistani politicians(believe it or not)are possibly adding wrong info about the trouble in the marriage to use it for their informational propoganda. Please keep an eye on info added without authentic sourcesEarlyriser10 (talk)

No, this content has been in the article since long. Please do not blank content based on assumptions. --lTopGunl (talk) 09:54, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First Meeting

The date of first meeting is mentioned to be when she was 16 years of age. But there are pictures available to the contrary when she was considerably younger, in fact a young child not more then 7-8 year old. In one of the pictures she is being driven in a car, sitting on the back seat while Jinnah is on the front seat with the driver. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.185.84.60 (talk) 13:45, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
