Note from author: You are correct, internationally Red Hurley was billed in some EU countries as 'Red Vincent Hurley' and indeed this name was used for the cover sleeve on the 'When' Single and some other subsequent EU releases. Lindondub Aug 2014'

Note from author: I would ask Tuzapicabit to please remove the comment that this article is 'poorly written' this is subjective and unwarranted. I have deliberately written this in a journalistic style placing the artist concerned in the context of his peers and those who succeeded him as the dominant force in Irish Pop thus the reference to Boyzone. Both Red Hurley and Boyzone were managed by Louis Walsh for example so there is a direct connection and Louis Walsh is on record as being delighted with Red Hurley's more recent success. The reference to U2 is to illustrate how changing tastes in Ireland changed the show business scene in the Country irrevocably. Thus the careers of top stars OF THE 70s & 80s such as Red Hurley and others declined during that time. Perhaps you are too young to recall that during the 1970s and well into the 1980s this guy was a major star in Ireland and had 7 number 1 records and many others in the top thirty which did not reach number 1. My sources were numerous, magazines and show business articles of that era. I also referenced Kevin Myers (the Irish Independent Journalist) whose article helped restore Hurley's career. I quote from this article with Myers express permission (by email). While I am happy to admit that I am a fan of the singer, I have no personal or business connection to him. I do have an extensive interest in the Irish pop scene of the era and am also a fan of all music including U2 and others. The purpose of my article was to explain to a new audience about the Irish pop scene of the 70s and 80s and to place Red Hurley's more recent so called comeback success in context.He is commonly referred to nowadays as a living legend so I wanted to tell his story which is interesting, nothing more.
