Eastern Ukraine

Odessa isn't exactly "Eastern"--BoguSlav 02:19, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. At best, it's south-eastern Ukraine. In effect, however, it's southern Ukraine. Also, the inclusion of Transnistria under Eastern Ukraine is confusing. I'd suggest that it be better to create a couple more sub-headers with an expand tag. If not, perhaps it would be better to scrap the absolute regions headers and rethink the format of the article. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 05:23, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the sentence was not exactly about Odessa either. As you may notice, I wrote this article in a hurry, drawing info mostly from a single book and from a couple of wikipedia articles I remembered. You are welcome to expand and correct the text. I seldom write articles longer than stub. My main goal is to increase the interconnection of information in wikipedia. And of course, I am not an expert in Ukrainian affairs. I merely accidentally run into a book which had a chapter on a topic not covered in wikipedia. -M.Altenmann >t
(@Iryna) It is easy to clarify the Transnistria part. -M.Altenmann >t 05:33, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(@Iryna) Not all movements were notable or long-lasting. Therefore I lumped them together into "western" part. You are welcome to create more subsections, but please don't make them of single sentence length. If you don't write them, nobody will (it is much more fun to write about putin khuilo rather than about Beregszasz), and the tags will simply make the article look ugly. -M.Altenmann >t 05:44, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When expanding, please keep focus of the article on political aspects, i.e., do not turn it into a fork of Demographics of Ukraine. And of course, keep russian affairs short - enough coverage already; let wikipedia:Summary style rule. -M.Altenmann >t 05:47, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
