Recently had a link removed from this page which I believed was both useful to users and relevant to the topic, as this post has several referances to Days Inn and has similar information to the actual Days Inn Wiki page I thought a link to the UK division of the company was required. The link was http://www.daysinnrc.co.uk, though this is a semi-commercial website I believed as it has similar content and distinction as well as a commercial relationship to the Road Chef website that it was required. Could you explain why this is was accepted on the page... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newedges (talkcontribs) 12:22, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Firstly, apologies for the "spam link" comment, as I appreciate that was not your intention. However, Days Inn is already linked to its own article (which has its own external links) in the body of the text, as are the similarly related Costa Coffee and McDonald's. So I think external links to their sites are warranted in their own articles rather than in this one - if we added external links to articles related to all other Wikilinked articles, I think we'd end up with unmanageable "External links" sections. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:30, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I understand and thanks for your help! Newedges (talk) 12:38, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
