Polish transliteration of Ukrainian name
The canonical transliteration would be Rohatin. Unlike Russian, Ukrainian is transliterated using Y for a long vowel and I for its shorter variant, whereas I is long and Y is short in Polish.
More Wikipedia pseudo-erudition and nonsense.
