né Roland James?

The Infobox on him had (né Roland James) next to his name. The né means that he was born with the name Roland James, however, nowhere in the article does it say this, nor can I find it in several biographies I've looked at. If you know it is true, please cite a source and put it back. Thank you. Fanra 16:18, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quote or opinion?

I've moved the following here:

Colman had been raised a gentleman, a quality which shone through whatever role he played, and so he remained, until the day he died. His own personal code of conduct earned him both the love and respect of everyone who worked with him, without any enemies or detractors: a highly unusual feat for so prominent a figure in the motion picture industry. Yet Colman's own sense of decency and honour apparently prohibited others from [dis]liking him.<ref> Franklin, Joe, Classics of the Silent Screen, 1959, The Citadel Press, The United States of America </ref>

I can't tell if this entire paragraph is supposed to be a quote from Franklin's book or not. Even if it is, I'm not certain it should go back in the article. Clarityfiend (talk) 05:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The intention is not clear, but its presentation certainly took the form of an opinion. Without attribution to a particular person, the opinion is presented at that of Wikipedia, so it fails neutrality. If it had been attributed to someone and placed into some kind of context, it's a rather nice quote, and may have served a useful purpose. It wasn't - so I believe removing it was the correct thing to do. Rossrs (talk) 12:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Which films British?

He returned from Hollywood to England sometime in the war. We ought to know which films were made in England and which in Hollywood. And maybe some mention of 'Around the World in Eighty Days', his last major appearance, and reunion with Niven. 86.145.131.152 (talk) 00:43, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1st wife?

His first wife is simply named as Thelma Raye. Do we know anything about this lady, to whom he was married for 14 years? Valetude (talk) 20:31, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Invisible Man

Frankly … ?

I’m puzzled by the reference to The Invisible Man[1]. It’s been some time since I’ve read it, but can’t remember any such reference.

On top of that … ?

On top of that, the entry for it saw it was initially released in 1897: only seven years after Colman’s birth.

Can we get some reference for it? Or remove the reference?

Ta.
