The 2006 structure is as accurate as I can make it. Some of the details are still a nit sketchy.GordyB 22:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work. One question, does the phrase "3 other teams will also join but as yet have not been named." refer to the Welsh Premier, or the Premier leagues altogether? Grinner 10:56, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Welsh division, though I've read elsewhere that were four more teams planned. I've taken the tables from here and updated them with information from here. Some of the data is not explicit and some may be unreliable. For example it does not specify which division Kent and Broadstairs will play in but only 'London and South' would make sense. Likewise Colchester and Northampton aren't specified but the text implies that they will play in the same division, so I put them in the East division. Colchester could logically play in the 'London and South' division but Northampton could not. Carlisle are supposedly to play in one of the two North East divisions, but there is only one North East division. I wonder if this is a typo for one of the two North West divisions and the already large division will be split.GordyB 20:08, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Burntwood also aren't specified but they would most likely play in the West Midlands division.GordyB 20:13, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Re. Carlisle, the Northern Premier copuld be regarded as a North East division, so that might make 2 NE. But you're right the NW is very large. Confusing eh! Grinner 11:29, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Very. I checked out the Peterlee site which implied that Carlisle were indeed in the Northern Premier (as were Newcastle) and refered to the Premier as a 'North East division'. I've got half a mind to trawl through various websites and half a mind to say 'sod it' and wait for the official tables to be updated. Alternatively you could start a thread in the League Express forum (I'd do it myself but I no longer know my password and my email / address have changed).GordyB 12:29, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Peterlee fixtures

I reckon we might as well wait until official fixtures are published. I doubt even the RFL know the full structure yet. Grinner 14:29, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay will do. But I reckon that the RFL do know but don't see why anybody else should know until they feel like it.GordyB 22:14, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The fixtures are out now - anyone fancy doing it or shall I? It may be later this week. Tim Fellows 20:55, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do them if you post a link. The official site still does not have any fixture list or updated tables.22:41, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Added the latest structure with a note that it is not finalised. This is based on the latest info I have from the league organiser. I have also updated and corrected a few details about the way the league works and a bit about the new Midlands League. Tim Fellows 11:28, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Latest RLC teams update - new teams added. We need to decide whether clubs from NL3 who have teams in the RLC are called A teams or not. In the official fixtures they are just down as, say, Bramley Buffaloes. Also in my official clubs list I have Newcastle as the Knights, not Spacecats. Tim Fellows 16:55, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can now confirm that all the teams are in their correct divisions now, I've spent stupid amounts of time checking team sites for fixture lists. The only two I'm not 100% about are the Yorkshire division and the Midlands & S Yorks division.GordyB 22:17, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen different division names: I've seen North Midlands as North Midlands & South Yorkshire, East as Central & East. I'm not sure about South East as I've seen it as South, South East and London & South. London & South East would make sense. A lot of divisions are abbreviated on some fixture lists, hence the shorter names given.80.176.144.237 20:19, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the North East is in one division, and the two pools are for fixture purposes only, that is what I've heard from one of the clubs anyway. A similar arrangement occurs in all regional divisions with 8 or 10 teams, but they're still one division.80.176.144.237 20:19, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you follow the links [1] and [2] they use the division names that I've posted. I spent a long time trawling through club fixture lists to get the pools correct. If you know which other divisions have a similar arrangement then edit those divisions AFAIK it is only the North and North East and Wales. As for the 'only for fixtures' just make anote of that in the main text.GordyB 20:25, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay we'll leave them til the season starts, or official press release. As I've seen the names both ways, we'll stick to the short forms. As for the North East it's far more complex, as I believe there was going to be 2 divisions of 5 (with cross-division fixtures), then they decided on one of 10 (where not everyone plays each other). I believe they've settled on the latter, but we'll leave the pools in until confirmation of whether it's 1 or 2 tables.

Having looked into it on the official documents they use Central/East (since it now stretched to Northampton) and North Midlands/South Yorkshire (since it now has more Yorkshire than midlands teams) to label the divisions in the line-up, but the abbreviated forms on the fixture list due to having a narrow column. The South East division is just that now, as it's less London biased than in the past (it was previously the London & South division). The only anomaly is the Cheshire division, that should have been renamed the NW division after the format changed, but that's as yet the official name.

That changes matters. If the official document say 'North Midlands / South Yorkshire' then that's good enough for Wiki.GordyB 12:57, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changed North Midlands and East to the full names, but left South East as is, I only found out about Central/East yesterday, checking the other names. I think the RLC site wasn't done by the league themselves. I have put all the sub-divisions in, this is different to Wales, where the tables and fixtures are independent. There's no official name, so revert it to pool if you prefer. I'll add a note about the sub-divisions in the main text later.

It appears that the North and the North East division are separate divisions. I've taken out the sub-divisions in the other divisions as nowhere lists them separate.

Actually they are listed on the site as one division so I've listed them as such.

Luton resign as did Northampton and Gateshead Winlaton Vulcans (the latter being replaced by Gateshead Storm 'A')

Essex Eels and Pembrokeshire Panthers the latest (and almost certainly not the last) to resign this season.

Mansfield Storm the latest in a long list

Huddersfield Sharks, West Cumbria Crusaders and Catterick Panthers all resign.

Ossett Trinity resign from playoffs after regular season. Haringey 'A' forfeited all bar 3 games.

Shield / Regional

Surely the trophy won by Liverpool in 2006 was the same one won by Wetherby last year?

(i.e. the next one down from the Harry Jepson) Tim Fellows 11:05, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ooops.GordyB 13:08, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited the page to remove 2006-specific information to replace it with more general information til more is known about the 2007 season (I forgot to log in). Should I leave last season's divisional line-ups in til next season's are confirmed?James Bowes 14:02, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good edits! Personally I'd leave the divisions as they stand until a formal announcement is made by the RLC. Last year I tried to calculate the exact structure based on on the announcements that had been made and what was on various club websites. It can be done but it is a major headache.GordyB 14:16, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know what the provisional divisional line-ups in the Midlands and South are, but they're not confirmed and they haven't to my knowledge sorted the Northern/Scottish/Welsh divisions yet so best to leave it for now. Maybe a note in history on the SW expansion which is notable. (James Bowes)80.176.144.237 17:46, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also added a note in the main text of the failed proposed expansion to Scotland for 2002 (mentioned in Beyond the Heartlands).80.176.144.237 18:02, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Past winners

I'm trying to restrict this section to those competitions mentioned on the site here [3] and their obvious predecessors. I'm therefore removing the Northern Conference 2000 result to avoid clutter. I will add the result to the history section.GordyB 16:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think Scotland pre-2006 should be removed as there was no link to RLC and moved to the Scottish league section if relevent. (James Bowes not logged in)80.176.144.237 17:43, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The data is already at the Scottish Rugby League, I simply copied it across. The results for the SRL are in my view like those for the NL3. There was no connection with the RLC then either. I put them in for the sake of completeness as the results for the RLC National and Scots division are notable. What do other editors think?.GordyB 20:01, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good point, actually. The only question is whether it clutters it up too much and the link is more appropriate, there are less NL3 seasons and it was a more significant comp. Also while NL3 was not part of the RLC many of the teams were former members so it was largely seen as part of the same pyramid. I agree we should see what other editors think though as it's not clear cut whether or nor it is necessary.80.176.144.237 20:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

South teams

I know the names of the three extra teams provisionally lined up but it is as yet not public so I will leave them off for now until confirmation.James Bowes 14:43, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

North West and Cheshire

To the person that keeps merging these divisions, these were SEPERATE divisions. I took out the two teams that failed to complete the season, but have added them to a note at the bottom, as a compromise, though if there's a way to put them in the main table with a line crossing them out, as a folded team, that would be better —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.44.112.111 (talk) 12:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Additions

I have added many additions, most of these are centred around the clubs themselves, I feel this is justified because they are what make the league what it is. However, if anyone can add some more general details that would improve the balance slightly.80.176.144.237 (talk) 21:18, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fixes Needed!

All articles linked in Rugby League Conference#Former divisions within the RLC section (with the exception of the National Division article) are, to be frank, terrible! They aren't / poorly sourced, constantly contradict each other, and do not seem to have any information past 2011. Due to the inconsistencies with in them and lack of findable sources I am having trouble fixing them. If others can't help fix them then they all need deleting. In addition, due to not being updated since 2011 there is no record of how they related to those leagues bellow the National Conference League found Rugby League Conference#Successor leagues and I suspect there are mutiple article about the same thing.
