While a nickname for an area is unusual, Mordor is so common that a local free paper - Głos Mordoru - has even taken up the term (and had people dressed as wizards handing them out), people generally joke that you work in Mordor (which I do), and it is used in news articles (which I cited), so I think it's worth including.
