Need to revise distance

There's now a more accurate distance to SS Cygni, it now should read 370 lightyears (+/- some number for uncertainty, dunno what). see < http://scitechdaily.com/new-distance-measurement-of-ss-cygni-resolves-major-astronomical-mystery/ >. Could somebody who works with astronomy pages do this fix? thanks Lanephil (talk) 18:32, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Cleaned up a few other things as well, and took down both flags that were on the article. Strictly speaking, there's a new position for the star that comes out of the new VLBI work, but it seems like overkill to update that. BSVulturis (talk) 21:44, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictory mass data in infobox & prose

Compare the following:

SS Cygni
Details
Red dwarf
Mass0.55±0.13[1] M
Temperature4,560[1] K
White dwarf
Mass0.81±0.2[1] M

The inclination of the system has been calculated to be about 50 degrees, yielding masses of 0.6

I've updated the article. How does it look now? Lithopsian (talk) 11:46, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Probably a good call to use the more recent source, although AAVSO and some other summary sites still use the 1989 mass numbers.
