Guggenheim project

Where did the $400 million figure come from? I read estimates in The Times of $200 million for the cost of the building. I would be interested to know where the higher estimate comes from and whether it is just for the building, or includes other costs. Can anyone help?

Well as an architect working in the UAE and more sopecially on other mega project here in Abu Dhabi, I think that the budget estimated on The Times was a preliminary one which , in most cases it will be increased o doubled in Abu Dhabi once the project goes under construction partly due to wages and building materials increases. Yet I expect the project budget to soar higher above the 400mil.

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Saadiyat Island's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Kaminer":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 12:17, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

danger to museum from rising sea levels due to climate change 68.162.117.130 (talk) 18:54, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’m new to this aspect of Wikipedia. So much is written about the architecture and collections but has the effect of rising sea levels on a museum built on an island been included in the development of this building? 68.162.117.130 (talk) 19:00, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Displaced Community

Some time ago, I undid an (in my opinion) AI-written edit which added little value. I dismissed it wholesale due to a lack of quality, but there was mention of displaced communities on the island. Some haphazard internet searching turned nothing up at the time and I then concluded the island was uninhabited prior to development.

However, I did slightly more looking and found an article (linked below) which claims there was in fact a small group living on the island — about 20 concrete homes, a school, hospital, and police station which was referred to as Sha’biyat Al Saadiyat. I'll update the article shortly.

More info about the community to add to the WP article could be helpful, and perhaps the Saadiyat Coastal Heritage Project mentioned in the source can give some details. However, a quick Google doesn't give anything helpful about the project. It may not be especially public on the internet, or there may be a language barrier on my part when searching. Not sure.
