- Oppose The traditional scope of the geographical term "Sangir Islands" always comprised the area of both regencies. "Sangir Islands" has somewhat fallen out of use in favor of "Sangihe Islands". This creates some confusion (similar to the case of Sumbawa and Sumbawa Regency), but nevertheless, this island group is not coterminous with the modern post-2002 administrative entity. –Austronesier (talk) 09:17, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
