Mr. Bean

  • ... that you can sit next to Mr. Bean (pictured) in Leicester Square? "Celebrating his 30th anniversary in 2020, Mr Bean is one of Britain’s most famous comic creations ever, first appearing on our screens in 1990. Now, you can share a bench with Rowan Atkinson’s hapless hero in Leicester Square." from: "Mr Bean: Scenes in the Square". Leicester Square. Retrieved 6 July 2021.

  • This looks good to me. All of the DYK criteria are met, it passes a copyvio check and the hook is good. QPQ has been provided. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:25, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom of Panorama

As all these artworks are apparently regarded as temporary installations, I'm surprised that no-one has challenged the images of them on grounds of the UK's

Fourth plinth, Trafalgar Square, where images have been repeatedly removed/deleted. @StarryGrandma:, who seems to know about this stuff. GrindtXX (talk) 16:20, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply

GrindtXX, sadly you are right. UK law allows freedom of panorama only for permanent sculptures. Unless the Westminster Council makes them permanent the images violate copyright. See c:Commons:Copyright rules by territory/United Kingdom#Freedom of panorama and c:Commons:Freedom of panorama#Permanent vs temporary. StarryGrandma (talk) 16:10, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sculptors

On a not-unrelated issue, are the names of the sculptors known? If they are, I'd have thought that information should be included. However, from a quick skim through the references (not exhaustive), it doesn't look as if they've been widely publicised: the only one I can immediately spot is that for Wonder Woman (n9), which is attributed to Samantha Wild (but also to "the sculpting team"). Is there any more info anywhere? GrindtXX (talk) 16:28, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
