Please leave this template in place to link the article histories and preserve this attribution.

The "hotel" example cited in the opening sentence is a soft open rather than a soft launch. Whilst there is some overlap in the principle, soft opens are about training staff and testing the day-to-day practicalities of facilities. As it stands, this article is strictly focused on software.
