Cambridge lion

A lion in Cambridge, displayed at Lion Yard (1975 -1999) and at Cambridge University R.U.F.C. ground since 2014, has been claimed to be a wooden prototype for the cast South Bank Lion. The Cambridge lion was discovered at the Woburn Abbey antique centre, ca 1971. However, the two lions are quite different in form; the Cambridge lion has been described as "emaciated", its stance is different and the tail is turned out rather than hanging between its legs.

The claim is unreferenced. I have flagged it as dubious. Nedrutland (talk) 07:30, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
