This article is written in Scottish English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, travelled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

The population in the article is a few years out of date. In this link below, there is a more up-to-date figure from 2010. I was trying to update the figure on the page, but after constant searching on the edit page, I cannot locate the "demographics" section on the edit page which shows up on the article. Hmm... If it makes you feel any better, I had quite a bit of difficulty trying to figure out where to edit that data and I'm an admin (I don't normally edit these articles ... I have a few of them on my watchlist to check for vandalism). The data appears to be stored in {{Scottish council populations}}, but I don't feel comfortable updating it myself. As far as I can see the population figure was not actually out of date, it was just that the date 2005 was hard-coded into {{Infobox Scotland council area}} while {{Scottish council populations}} contains 2010 estimates. I have fixed it now & it will update automatically when I upload future years' data.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 15:55, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Someone has managed to make a real hash of the election results table. Although it purports to be the 2007 results, the number of seats given are for 2012. However, the rest of the information stays as 2007, including net gains/losses, percentages, and number of votes obtained. This either needs reverting, or updating properly. Is this article supposed to cover South Lanarkshire as a geographical area, or is its intended focus the South Lanarkshire council? It seems to be more the latter but can't make up its mind. — MouldyFox (talk) 09:19, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
