I question the statement "The Southern river otter lives in the central and southern areas of Chile and parts of Argentina and the Southern United States." There is a huge geographical gap between southern areas of Chile and Argentina and the Southern United States. In the northern half of Chile L. provocax is not present. Was this species introduced to the USA - but then it would perhaps fit better into Oregon and Washington State? A typo? Somebody making jokes? From my observation of feces of L. provocax I am under the impression that it feeds on crabs (Aegla sp.), perhaps exclusively so. --Lupo Manaro 21:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I should add that to my (limited) knowledge L. provocax does not live in the marine environment, only in freshwater. The marine coastal environment is used by L. felina (which does not use freshwater environments). --Lupo Manaro 15:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody caring about this article? I have deleted "and Southern United States" because it does not make sense geographical sense. I assume it was a vandal intervention. --Lupo Manaro 20:11, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
