squid comes from "squirell kid", but is not taken from the Californian surf culture. It comes from the smashed squirrels you can find on the road. because sooner or later, these motorcyclists will end smashed on the road just like the poor squirell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.102.106.123 (talkcontribs)

I always thought it was "Speeding Quickly Until I Die." :p —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.6.72.92 (talkcontribs)

Super Quick Until I Die. Seriously though does the statement that your torso is more likely to be riped in half without "proper" riding leathers near the end of this article really reasonable. In my personal opinion if your going to be riped in half there aren't a lot of coats that would save you. :) Keep riding and yes I am signed up to be an organ donor so what the hell I could be saving lives by acting stupid. 71.112.83.24 03:11, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to agree about the "torn in half" part - that seems like pure speculation. A rider being injured in the manner described, to be held together only be intestines, would be a very unlikely outcome. I've removed the statement. 216.36.186.2 (talk) 18:02, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think those acronyms are likely backronyms, which is why i labeled them as such. I think 'squirrelly kid' just follows the colloquial understanding of the term 'squirrelly'. From wiktionary: "resembling a squirrel; unpredictable or jumpy; eccentric" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.28.43.12 (talk) 23:55, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
