I've read in the Book of Tempeh, (Professional Edition 1979 pg.99), that Tauge Goreng, or Beans sprouts with Onchom and Taucho Sauce, is especially popular in Bogor and Jakarta. Is this still true? I'd like to make Onchom, and would love to find someone in the Boston, MA, USA area to tell me if I've done it right. Any takers?

Tauge goreng is on the same popularity level with Kerak Telur in Jabodetabek area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) where Betawi people lives. Anyway you won't find them in a classy restaurant as mostly they're sold by street peddlers. The kind of Oncom they uses are also usually using coconut shreds instead of the usual peanut, as it's the most common type of Oncom in Jabodetabek area.Bayuamus (talk) 01:48, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
