Merge proposal

I propose that

merged here. This has already been brought up at WikiProject Japan, and people there have suggested merging. The reasons are that Niō Zen was a practice, not a Zen tradition, and that it is only discussed in relation to Shōsan. It seems more appropriate to discuss it in the context of Shōsan's life, just as most of the sources do. — Mr. Stradivarius ^♫ 15:14, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply

Support per nominator. Nio Zen was a history and seemingly doesn't have practitioners today. Even in Edo period, I don't think it was a major practice. Oda Mari (talk) 16:19, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. I can't seem to find RS that discuss this as a valid practice beyond Shōsan. I also think bringing this within the rubric of the Shōsan article will help prevent some editors from using the independent
